About the Client

A major Brazilian financial institution specializing in investment banking, wealth management, and corporate lending. The customer develops secure digital banking platforms and financial solutions to serve a diverse global client base.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and implement prioritized backend features using Java and Quarkus.
• Apply engineering best practices to maintain technical and functional quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Build solutions that support flexibility, scalability, availability, resilience, and reliability.
• Contribute to the definition and evolution of microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Participate in technical, architectural, and product-evolution discussions.
• Provide technical analysis and recommendations to support architectural decisions.
• Design and implement integrations between internal and external services using REST APIs, messaging platforms, and event hubs.
• Develop and maintain distributed applications in public cloud environments, primarily AWS.
• Create and maintain unit, service, contract, and integration tests.
• Contribute to technical standards, engineering best practices, and the continuous improvement of development processes.
• Support observability through effective logging, health checks, metrics, monitoring, and alerting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to solve complex technical problems.
• Participate in Agile and DevOps delivery practices.
• Share knowledge and provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

What You Bring

• Senior-level experience in developing web applications and microservices using Java.
• Strong proven experience with Java 8 through Java 21.
• Hands-on experience developing applications using Quarkus.
• Proven experience in developing and deploying applications in public cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture patterns.
• Experience designing and developing distributed applications and service integrations.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Experience creating unit, service, contract, and integration tests using tools such as JUnit and Postman/Newman.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS, or DynamoDB.
• Experience with caching and data-indexing solutions.
• Experience with messaging and event platforms such as AWS SQS, AWS SNS, RabbitMQ, and Kafka.
• Experience implementing observability practices, including logging, health checks, metrics, and monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines using tools such as Jenkins.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering and design best practices, including Design Patterns, SOLID, Clean Code, and 12-Factor App principles.
• Experience with serverless services, particularly AWS Lambda.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• The ability to collaborate effectively with technical, product, and client stakeholders.
