Network Engineer- Local Bay Area OR Virginia Candidates

Who Are We?

RZR is an AI-native advertising platform built for the next era of performance marketing. We operate at the intersection of machine learning, programmatic media, and full-funnel mobile growth, powering campaigns for some of the world's most ambitious advertisers. Our platform is purpose-built to deliver outcomes at scale, not just impressions.

We are a team of builders, operators, and technologists who believe the advertising industry is overdue for a fundamental rethink. We move fast, operate with a high degree of ownership, and hold ourselves to an exceptionally high standard of craft.

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join our San Francisco engineering hub. In this role, you will own the design, implementation, and day-to-day management of the high-performance network infrastructure that powers our programmatic Demand-Side Platform — a real-time bidding environment where milliseconds matter and reliability is non-negotiable.

You will work hands-on with modern open networking technologies — including Mellanox Spectrum hardware, Cumulus Linux, and Netris — to build and maintain a low-latency, highly automated data center fabric. You will collaborate closely with global infrastructure and backend engineering teams to deliver a network environment that scales with the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and maintain high-density data center networks utilizing Mellanox switches and adapters.
• Network OS Management: Administer and optimize network nodes running Cumulus Linux, ensuring stable and high-performance routing and switching.
• Software-Defined Networking: Manage and orchestrate network operations using Netris for automated, controller-based networking.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune network performance for real-time systems, with a focus on throughput and latency.
• Security & Compliance: Implement and manage firewall rules, VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs) to protect infrastructure and data assets.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop automation workflows to eliminate manual configuration, improve consistency, and accelerate deployment cycles.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ years of professional network engineering experience (6+ years for Senior-level consideration).
• Deep familiarity with Mellanox Spectrum switches and ConnectX adapters.
• Strong proficiency in Cumulus Linux (Debian-based) and general Linux system administration.
• Hands-on experience with Netris for VPC-style networking on-premises or in hybrid cloud environments.
• Expert-level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EVPN-VXLAN, and LACP.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for network automation.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Why Join RZR ?

• Own the core US data center network infrastructure — this is a high-ownership, high-visibility role, not a support function.
• Work daily with best-in-class open networking hardware and software: Mellanox Spectrum, Cumulus Linux, and Netris in a live production environment.
• Directly shape the backbone of a programmatic platform processing billions of real-time bid requests, where your engineering decisions have immediate, measurable impact.
• Join a small, senior infrastructure team where ideas get implemented — not committee'd to death.
• Be part of a company scaling aggressively, with the scope and trajectory to grow into a broader infrastructure leadership role.
