Design Manager

As we continue to evolve and expand, we are looking for an experienced Lead Design Engineer to spearhead our design initiatives within the Oil & Energy sector. This role entails leading a team of engineers, driving innovative design solutions, and ensuring project specifications align with the overall objectives of the company.

Job Purpose

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, analysing, and optimizing static equipment such as Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Skids, Tanks, and Steel Structures. The role ensures engineering accuracy, compliance with industry standards, and timely support during project execution and bidding stages.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Engineering

• Design and analyse static equipment as per project requirements and applicable codes (ASME, TEMA, API, etc.).
• Perform mechanical calculations, thickness calculations, nozzle load checks, and finite element analysis (FEA) when required.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.

2. Material & Documentation

• Prepare Material Requisition (MR/PR) with Technical Delivery Conditions for project-related materials.
• Prepare and review Material Take-Off (MTO), material specifications, and purchase requisitions.
• Ensure all design documents meet project technical specifications and QA/QC standards.

3. Technical Support

• Provide design-related support during the bidding stage, including estimation and preliminary design inputs.
• Offer solutions to design issues during project execution and coordinate with fabrication teams.
• Attend client meetings, audits, vendor inspections, and customer visits as required.

4. Project Management

• Ensure timely completion of design/drawing/MR activities within project deadlines.
• Maintain accurate design records, revision logs, and document control requirements.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams including procurement, QA/QC, production, and project management.

5. Team Support & Development

• Provide on-the-job training and technical guidance to junior Design Engineers and CAD Operators.
• Review CAD drawings, fabrication drawings, and ensure design intent is maintained.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10 years of experience in static equipment design within fabrication or manufacturing (Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Skids).
• Strong knowledge of ASME Sec VIII Div.1/2, TEMA, API standards.
• Proficiency in design software such as PV Elite, HTRI, Compress, AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
