Senior Software Engineer, Scale (Frontend)

How you'll make impact

You’ll build frontend experiences and platform capabilities that help companies embed Airwallex financial products at speed and with confidence. You’ll work with ReactJS and TypeScript to support multi-tenant systems, cross-domain product features, and enterprise integrations serving global customers such as Rippling, Navan, Qantas, and SHEIN. You’ll translate complex business, regulatory, and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable user experiences, balancing tenant isolation, performance, resilience, and delivery speed.

• Build frontend capabilities for multi-tenant platforms, balancing tenant isolation with resource efficiency and long-term extensibility.
• Own cross-domain product features that bring together business, regulatory, and technical requirements.
• Design enterprise integrations by translating customer business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Partner with Product, Design, Compliance, and Sales to turn complex requirements into clear, reliable experiences.
• Make pragmatic trade-offs between performance, maintainability, and delivery speed based on business impact.

You’ll work from the Singapore office five days a week.

What we're looking for

Essentials

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Strong judgment in choosing the right level of abstraction, balancing flexibility and simplicity in system and component design.
• Clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Pragmatic decision-making on when to optimise for performance versus velocity based on business impact.
• Experience thriving in cross-functional environments spanning Product, Design, Compliance, and Sales.
• A track record of designing for scale, maintainability, and production excellence.

Preferred

• Experience in fintech, payments, or another regulated industry.
• Experience tuning performance at high scale, including 100k+ QPS, large user bases, or strict latency SLAs.
• A background in multi-tenant SaaS or platform architecture.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, or cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, API design, or developer documentation.
• Experience with cross-region deployment or data residency compliance.
• Solutions engineering or customer-facing technical experience.

The team owns multi-tenant systems powering companies like Brex, Rippling, Navan, Qantas, and SHEIN. The engineering challenges are real: balancing tenant isolation with resource efficiency, low-latency performance with cross-data-center resilience, and immediate customer needs with long-term architectural extensibility.

Beyond infrastructure, the team owns cross-domain product features and designs enterprise integrations by translating customer business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
