Our client is a consumer technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Drive consumer product features from initial discovery through release and results tracking, working side by side with company leadership and other engineers. The position also involves guiding less experienced teammates while the engineering group grows.

What you'll do

- Take ownership of features across their whole lifecycle, from discovery and design to release, measurement and support on mobile platforms.

- Develop full-stack functionality using Python and a relational database for a broad consumer audience.

- Collaborate with senior leaders and fellow engineers to decide which work best supports user growth, engagement and retention.

- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to shape priorities and designs, taking a product-minded approach in the absence of dedicated product managers.

- Lead the creation of new capabilities in areas such as search, personalization, partner integrations, localization and media.

- Coach junior colleagues and contribute to shared engineering standards as the team expands.

- Design and evaluate experiments and analyze data to understand the effect of each release and spot further improvements.

- Stay close to end users by drawing on their feedback and support conversations when deciding what to build.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- At least 5 years of professional full-stack engineering experience.

- A history of delivering meaningful consumer product work in startups or rapidly scaling businesses.

- Strong command of Python and TypeScript or JavaScript.

- Hands-on experience with Postgres and REST API design.

- A degree in computer science or a related technical field.

- A product-owner mindset and the confidence to carry features from idea to release without a product manager.

- Ease with metrics and data when making product decisions.

- Experience with, or willingness to take on, mentoring of junior engineers.

- Ability to work on-site 3 days per week.

- Base salary: USD 200,000 to 260,000 per year
