Full Stack Software Developer

Avam is an applied and materials sciences company creating biology, chemistry, and materials-science products that support testing, research, manufacturing, and cleaner energy applications. As a Full Stack Software Developer, you will help shape the software that supports Avam’s products and internal capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to contribute across front-end and backend systems, partner closely with cross-functional teams, and build reliable applications that support complex, science-driven work.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain responsive web applications across the full technology stack.
• Design scalable APIs and integrate front-end applications with backend services.
• Collaborate with product and science teams to translate requirements into software.
• Write automated tests, review code, and improve application reliability and performance.
• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot production systems using modern cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant software development experience, including full-stack product development.
• Proficiency with a modern JavaScript framework and experience with TypeScript or another strongly typed application development language.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with relational databases.
• Experience collaborating across product, science, and engineering teams.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English.
• Availability to work across Eastern Time and Mountain Time business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL and Docker.
• Familiarity with AWS.
• Prior experience in biotech or scientific software.
• Availability to work during EST and MST business hours.
