Middle Backend Developer (Java/Kotlin)

We are looking for a Middle Backend Developer (Java/Kotlin).

About the Project

We develop a Big Data platform and tools focused on:

• Data Ingestion — collecting and delivering data from business systems to an analytical data warehouse..
• Data Maintenance — maintaining and optimizing data storage..
• Analytics Integration — integrating various analytics services and tools into the data platform.

Our Tech Stack

• Backend: Java, Python, Rust, Spring Boot.
• Data Streaming & CDC: Apache Kafka, Kafka Connect, Debezium.
• Data Processing & Storage: Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg, Trino, Ozone S3.
• Database: PostgreSQL.
• Infrastructure: Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the system that collects data from business services and delivers it to the analytical data warehouse (Ozone).
• Develop the metadata and statistics service for warehouse tables, including the interface and table optimization.
• Integrate existing tools into a unified data platform for analysts and data engineers, with end-to-end access based on permissions.
• Support the team’s tools and partially contribute to other projects the team relies on.
• Take part in all stages of development, from design to deployment, with the ability to influence the tool.
• Work with complex multi-step integrations and high load.

Technical Requirements

Must-have

• Java and/or Kotlin
• Spring Boot
• Apache Kafka
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL)

• Rust and/or Python

• S3-compatible object storage
• Experience with distributed systems and Big Data technologies
