About Us
Fanatics is building a leading global digital sports platform. We ignite the passions of global sports fans and maximize the presence and reach for our hundreds of sports partners globally by offering products and services across Fanatics Commerce, Fanatics Collectibles, and Fanatics Betting & Gaming, allowing sports fans to Buy, Collect, and Bet. Through the Fanatics platform, sports fans can buy licensed fan gear, jerseys, lifestyle and streetwear products, headwear, and hardgoods; collect physical and digital trading cards, sports memorabilia, and other digital assets; and bet as the company builds its Sportsbook and iGaming platform.
Fanatics has an established database of over 100 million global sports fans; a global partner network with approximately 900 sports properties, including major national and international professional sports leagues, players associations, teams, colleges, college conferences and retail partners, 2,500 athletes and celebrities, and 200 exclusive athletes; and over 2,000 retail locations, including its Lids retail stores. Our more than 22,000 employees are committed to relentlessly enhancing the fan experience and delighting sports fans globally.
About Fanatics Collect
Fanatics Collect is redefining the trading card industry, connecting passionate collector communities with the products they love. We're backed by Fanatics — a $31B company and the world's largest sports merchandiser, with 900+ sports relationships and exclusive MLB, NFL, and NBA licensing.
Our commerce engine spans three connected marketplaces: Fanatics Live (live breaking, buy-now and auction), the Fanatics Collect Marketplace (our secondary marketplace and auction house), and TOPPS.com (primary market e-commerce for new releases and drops).
The Team
We're a distributed team across time zones and countries. We hire for intelligence and kindness, value context over control, and expect ownership — hands-on, decisive, comfortable with ambiguity.
Help shape the future of the Fanatics Collect Marketplace
The Fanatics Collect Marketplace is our secondary marketplace and auction house — the trusted, always-on venue collectors rely on to buy and sell at scale, spanning Buy Now fixed-price listings and ongoing Weekly and Premier Auctions.
We're looking for a Design Lead to own this experience end to end: making it the most enjoyable, the most trusted, the most engaging, and the easiest way for collectors to find and buy the cards they're looking for.
You'll partner closely with the Director of Product Design, Fanatics Collect E-commerce, and with the design leads for Fanatics Live and TOPPS.com, so the Marketplace feels like one part of a single, coherent Fanatics Collect experience — not a separate product.
What You'll Do
Marketplace Experience
- Own the end-to-end design of the Fanatics Collect Marketplace — Buy Now, Weekly Auctions, and Premier Auctions.
- Make it the easiest way to find the card a collector is looking for — search, browse, filtering, and discovery that scale as the marketplace grows.
- Build the trust and transparency collectors expect from the world's leading auction house for trading cards — clear listings, clear provenance, clear outcomes.
- Balance the distinct mechanics of fixed-price buying and live/ongoing auctions within one coherent experience.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to raise the bar on usability, hierarchy, and interaction patterns.
Engagement & Trust
- Design the moments that make bidding, buying, and selling feel exciting, not stressful — anticipation without anxiety.
- Champion clarity and transparency at every step: pricing, fees, authentication, and order status.
- Use data and collector feedback to continuously improve conversion, trust, and satisfaction.
Cross-Surface Coherence
- Partner with the Live/Breaking and TOPPS.com design leads so shared patterns — search, navigation, checkout — feel consistent across all three surfaces.
- Partner with Creative Studio so the Marketplace reflects Fanatics Collect's trusted, auction-house brand voice.
- Partner with the Shared Experience team on the design system, search, and navigation patterns the Marketplace depends on.
Craft & Quality
- Hold a high craft bar — every listing, every card, every transaction should feel worthy of what collectors love.
- Push quality from concept through shipped execution, partnering closely with Engineering to preserve design intent.
- Mentor other designers and help raise the craft standard across the team.
Who You Are
- 7+ years of product design experience, ideally including marketplace, e-commerce, or auction/commerce design.
- A systems thinker who can design for both fast, fixed-price buying and the anticipation of live auctions.
- Comfortable moving from user flows and information architecture to detailed UI and interaction design.
- Data-informed: you use research and metrics to drive decisions, not just instinct.
- A clear communicator who can align Product, Engineering, Brand, and adjacent design leads.
- Genuine appreciation for the trading card and collecting hobby, or real excitement to dive in.
If you don't tick every box, talk to us anyway. We know the "perfect candidate" doesn't exist, and we want people who bring their own perspective to Fanatics Collect.
