Senior Product Manager - Design System

Porto

Not stated in the posting: salary, visa.

Open. First seen 19 October 2026.

About the role

At Mindera, we are looking for a Product Manager to drive the evolution and adoption of a Design System that supports consistent, scalable and high-quality digital experiences across Web and App platforms.

The focus is on strengthening shared design foundations, evolving visual guidelines and increasing the use of reusable components instead of individually built interfaces. The goal is to improve consistency, reduce duplication and help product teams deliver digital experiences more efficiently.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between Design and Engineering, ensuring the Design System meets the needs of different product teams while evolving in line with business priorities, user needs and technical requirements.

You will manage the Design System as a strategic product in its own right, owning its vision, roadmap, governance and adoption across the wider digital ecosystem.

We value empathy, self-organization, and a positive attitude. If you are approachable, communicate clearly, and believe that team fit is just as important as your product expertise, you'll feel right at home here.

At Mindera, we encourage the use of AI to assist with product management, analysis, documentation, and related tasks. We find that a person's product thinking, decision-making, and collaboration skills have the biggest impact on long-term successful delivery, with or without AI. Our goal during the interview process is to understand your knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and product mindset. If you need to, or plan to use AI during the interview process, please be transparent with us to avoid misunderstandings that could impact your chances of securing the role or your success at Mindera.

Expected to travel to the UK at least once or twice a month.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Strategy: Drive the long-term vision, adoption and implementation of the design system across Web and App platforms.
  • Lead Roadmap: Manage the product roadmap and prioritise the backlog to align with core business goals and objectives.
  • Sync Disciplines: Coordinate design and engineering workstreams to ensure seamless delivery for our internal product teams.
  • Champion Growth: Act as an advocate for the design system, raising awareness and sharing progress across the business.
  • Elevate Standards: Set premium customer experience design standards through high-quality, reusable components and patterns.
  • Support Accessibility: Embed accessibility guidelines and support for assistive technologies into every part of the design system.
  • Ensure Compliance: Partner with App teams to guarantee technical alignment with Liquid Glass and Edge-to-Edge requirements.
  • Measure Impact: Establish productivity baselines and success metrics that ladder up to our business OKRs and online scorecard.
  • Define Governance: Support robust contribution models and governance structures as the design system evolves over time.
  • Build Community: Cultivate an active and engaged user community through regular outreach, feedback and quarterly surveys.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner, ideally on a design system, component library or internal platform product.
  • Experience treating a platform as a product: managing internal users as customers, adoption, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Strong collaboration with design and engineering teams, with enough technical understanding to discuss theming, tokens and component architecture.
  • Familiarity with Web and mobile app development contexts (iOS/Android).
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and assistive technologies.
  • Experience defining success metrics, OKRs and adoption baselines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including influencing without direct authority.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
