About the role
Hasbro's standard text
We take play seriously. We’re looking for curious adventurers ready to find their party, fueled by imagination and drive to build what’s never been built before. At Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, you’ll collaborate with passionate teams to reimagine our iconic brands and create experiences that spark joy, connection, and community through the magic of play. This is your chance to shape legendary play that lasts a lifetime.
In the Senior Industrial Engineer role, you will join the Product Development organization to boost efficiency, drive value, and remove waste. The Industrial Engineering team applies Lean principles and Design to Value (including Design for Manufacturing) to analyze current processes and products. This is done through close cooperation with internal teams such as brand marketing, product development, sourcing, QA, and finance, along with external suppliers.
This role acts as an important advocate for Continuous Improvement by leading key projects and training others. You will be a subject matter expert on Lean and Kaizen methods and tools.
Job Duties:
- Collaborative Lean Practitioner
- Lead strategic Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and quick hit projects from definition through implementation. Coordinate cross-functional resources for these events and collaborate with external suppliers.
- Drive and implement labor efficiency through deployment of global industrial engineering process, tools and automation solutions.
- Change Agent with Excellent Communication Skills
- Work cross-functionally to develop and deliver training to all levels of organization as needed. Build the skills of all functional leaders and associates through hands-on interactions and personal mentoring in lean management tools.
- Approach each project and your internal customers with the understanding that change requires trust and partnership. You communicate in a clear, respectful, and persuasive way to lead to agreement and positive outcomes with your continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish appropriate metrics and report on progress, achievements, and results. This includes executive level reporting, management updates, and guideline sharing throughout the organization.
- Analytical Problem Solver
- Dive deep into the data and can use it to jump into problem solving mode quickly because you seek to understand first before suggesting a solution. You enjoy gathering data and information to prioritize issues and use your expertise to find the best business approach.
- Develop and complete project plans using strong project management skills.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years working within a Lean-focused setting, with direct involvement in preparing, conducting, and driving outcomes from Kaizen and other Continuous Improvement activities.
- Previous experience as a facilitator and mentor involving problem solving, process development and/or behavior change methods and tools.
- Solid knowledge of Lean methodology, principles, and tools including Value Stream Mapping & Kaizen.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate Design for Manufacturing opportunities and requirements to Product Development engineering teams.
- Plant Industrial Engineering & manufacturing operations experience preferred (ideally in consumer product goods).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across functional audiences with different backgrounds.
- Fluency in English and can communicate in Mandarin.
Role Specifics:
- Based in Hasbro’s Vietnam Hai Phong office
