About the role

About the Role

As Founding Engineer at an early-stage freight technology company, you will work across product and engineering to build AI-powered tools for freight operations. You will combine customer discovery with hands-on development, helping evolve early demos into reliable production products and shaping the technical direction as the company grows.

What You'll Do

  • Lead conversations with customers and translate their needs into product features and technical plans.
  • Design, build, and deploy full-stack applications, while advancing the product's AI capabilities.
  • Move prototypes and demos toward scalable, high-quality production systems.
  • Make practical architecture decisions and help shape the product and engineering direction.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production applications.
  • Full-stack experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and React, plus backend development in Python.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM design patterns, vector stores, and model fine-tuning.
  • Experience taking products from MVP to production, including customer conversations and product feedback.
  • Startup or early-stage experience, with sound judgment about architecture and scaling trade-offs.
  • Experience with vector databases or semantic search is relevant.

Location

Hybrid role based in Berlin, Germany. Candidates should be willing to work from Berlin or relocate.
