About the role

About the Role

Join an early-stage AI customer success software team as a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer. You will work directly with enterprise customers to take AI agents from discovery and configuration through production, while bringing field insights back into the core platform.

What You'll Do

  • Work with customers to understand onboarding, adoption, and renewal workflows, then identify where AI agents can help.
  • Connect and configure agents with customer data sources, business systems, single sign-on, and other integrations.
  • Build evaluations using customer data, assess agent quality, and improve performance before deployment.
  • Partner with go-to-market teams on technical customer conversations, account activation, and expansion.
  • Turn deployment learnings into product improvements, including fixing platform gaps when needed.
  • Debug production deployments, investigate root causes, and expand solutions from an initial end-to-end use case.

What We're Looking For

  • Three to seven years of experience in customer-facing software engineering, forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or implementation.
  • Experience owning technical customer deployments and building and launching LLM agents, including prompts, evaluations, and complex, long-running workflows.
  • Strong Python and FastAPI backend skills, along with React frontend experience.
  • Background in early-stage or high-growth startups, including taking products or deployments from zero to one.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, stable experience across roles, and evidence of career growth.
  • Experience working in hybrid teams and currently based in, or willing to relocate to, the San Francisco Bay Area.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $180,000 to $230,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid in San Francisco, California.
