We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Java Software Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing and developing scalable, high-performance software systems, with a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, system design, and distributed technologies. The candidate should be passionate about solving complex technical challenges, building robust applications, and contributing to architectural decisions that drive business and technology growth.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing reliable backend systems, designing scalable architectures, and building high-throughput applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, architects, product managers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions while ensuring performance, security, and maintainability.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications and software solutions.
  • Apply strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms to solve complex engineering problems efficiently.
  • Design and implement distributed systems and scalable architectures using sound system design principles.
  • Work with Apache Kafka to build reliable, event-driven applications and manage real-time data streaming and asynchronous communication.
  • Develop efficient, reusable, and maintainable code while following software engineering best practices.
  • Participate in architectural discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews to ensure high-quality engineering standards.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Ensure application reliability, scalability, security, and optimal performance across production environments.
  • Mentor junior engineers, share technical knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong expertise in Apache Kafka, including event-driven architecture, messaging systems, and distributed data processing.
  • Excellent understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), with the ability to solve complex computational problems.
  • Strong knowledge of System Design, including high-level and low-level design, scalability, fault tolerance, and distributed systems.
  • Experience designing and developing large-scale, high-availability software applications.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging capabilities.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Java programming and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience developing backend applications using Java Spring Boot and related frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Microservices architecture and distributed application development.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, database technologies, caching mechanisms, and application integration.
  • Knowledge of performance optimization, concurrency, multithreading, and cloud-based application development.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 6–20 years of overall experience in software development and engineering.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining scalable backend systems and enterprise-grade applications.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline (preferred).
